Little Mermaid

tshirt, hat- H&M
skirt- Penneys/Primark
boots- Topshop
cross- Street vendor in Berkeley, CA

So I've finally finished my internship and summer can begin. Having spent the past two months doing engineering, however much I do love it, it hasn't really felt like summer yet considering I started working the Monday after the Friday I finished my exams. After a great weekend surfing in Lahinch with a great bunch of people I however now feel like my summer has really begun!

Now I just have a million and one things to do before I head off to Central America next Monday. Cannot believe it's only a week away now. If anyone has any tips send them this way!
Now back to my feeble attempt of the beginnings of packing.

Not enough hours in the day!

Wisconsin; Smell Our Dairy Air

I'm back home out West for the weekend and didn't bring my camera so apologies for the dodgey iPhone photos, I hadn't done an outfit post in awhile though so I thought I'd make do.
I found this Black Milk dress that I'd only worn once in a suitcase in my room and couldn't resist wearing it. I doubt the west of Ireland is quite ready for a full body-con stain glass window lyrca dress however so I rooted through my brother's wardrobe (sorry man) til I found this awesome vintage sweater.
And yes, I am having it. Cheers bro.

Off to see Batman now, actually never been so excited!!!

Klaus

So I was trying to take boring old outfit photos in my room seeing as I hadn't blogged in ages when Klaus, the cat of the house I live in, kept coming in the door wanting to play. Now, I'm not usually a cat person, in fact, Klaus and I had a questionable beginning, but he is growing on me, not quite a dog, but an okay cat, I'll give it to him.
Anyways, it was a nice evening so I decided instead of being vain, I'd go outside with him and get some nice photos of him in the evening sun. I turned the camera on the two of us for awhile, but he wasn't too keen on that and just kept running away.
I know a lot of these photos are out of focus and that, but I like the effect it gave so I thought I'd put them up.

Excuse the absence from blogging, it's tough to get a chance to take photos when you work a 9-5, or simply "work" as a friend corrected me today when I was complaining about it as that's what the rest of the world does.

How right he was too.

Coral

dress (worn as skirt)- New Look
jumper, necklace, boots- Topshop

This is the dress I wore to the wedding in Majorca from my last post. So glad I can style it like this and give it a completely different look so I get more than one wear out of it.

€30 well spent I can tell you that much!

Majorcan Wedding

dress- New Look
shoes- River Island
necklace- Topshop

The weekend before last I attended a wedding in Majorca. Due to the fact that I knew the weather was going to be hot, I wanted to wear something light while in-keeping with the vibrance of the Mediterranean. I saw this dress in New Look in London just before my exams for about €30 and fell in love with the colour. It wasn't until a few days before the wedding that I realised I actually had no shoes to go with it though and so popped into River Island as it was closing one evening after work and stumbled across these amazing shoes that actually ended up making the outfit!

Although the dress was originally meant to be a straight hem midi dress, as I was leaving the apartment I decided that it looked better pinned up at one side to give this draped effect. Plus it now means I can wear it another time down straight and it'll give a completely different look.

The wedding truly was magical and such an idyllic setting.
The dog you can see in the first photo was one of about 30 that were outside of the church when we arrived all competing in a dog show which simply added to all the festivities. Plus, I love dogs, so couldn't resist getting my photo taken with the biggest one, even if he did drool on my dress!

Palma

shorts- Levi
top- Topshop
sunglasses- Nasty Gal
sandals- Gucci
belt- Urban Outfitters

Last weekend I was at a wedding in Majorca. I hadn't been to the island since I was very small and forgotten how beautiful it is. I spent a day in Palma with my parents, wandering the old Spanish streets and doing all the touristy things.
It was a lovely break from spending my days in front of a computer screen at work but I don't think I could handle living in a hot climate all the time. I'm definitely more of a winter person than a summer one, mainly due to the fact I don't tan, and so the sun has no real appeal for me. I do like the warmth though, as long as it's not too hot!

I suppose we're never happy!

Breathe Boardwear

It was my friend Cianne's 21st last night and I'd been promising her for awhile that I'd feature her brand on here. Seeing as she launched her online shop this week and it was her birthday, I thought what better time than now to do a post.

Breathe Boardwear is a wakeboarding clothing company set up by Cianne when she couldn't wakeboard anymore due to illness and even though she's my mate and I sort of have to say it, I honestly do think her gear is amazing. The quality is second to none and the designs are bright and bold and seriously eye catching. Even though I don't have the "wakeboarding lifestyle" so to speak, I still can't help but wear the clothes and feel ridiculously cool (for want of a better word) when I do.

I'd seriously recommend checking out the brand though, and not only because Ci is my friend, or cos it was her birthday yesterday, but also because 5% of all sales is donated to Cystic Fibrosis charities worldwide.

Simple

shorts, shoes- Topshop
shirt- Penneys/Primark

Apart from making me look pregnant in these photos, I really love these shorts. I'm not usually one for clean, crisp tailoring and minimalist outfits but that's just because it's not really my style. I however am starting to leave the darkside and the spikes and leather behind as it were and am opting for more pastels and neutral tones of late. I suppose summer will do that to you.
I haven't been posting much lately, mainly due tot he fact I'm just settling into my internship in the Mechanical Engineering department at my college. It's tough work, mainly research based, but I'm enjoying it thus far. It's mainly based around getting girls into the field of engineering which is something I have a huge interest in so it's great to actually be working on something I enjoy.
That's all really for now, sorry about the poor quality photos, was running out the door and attempted to salvage them but they're still rather bad. I'm thinking of taking a photography class over the summer to actually learn how to use my camera properly actually. Another day's work mind you.

Hope everyone's enjoying the crazy sun we've been having. I spent my Saturday chasing ducks around the local pond with one of my housemates, dressed in dungarees, like a total child.
Do not regret it, even one bit!

A much needed break...

 leather jacket, sunglasses- NastyGal
boots- Topshop
hat- H&M
dress- American Apparel
rings- Topshop, Aldo

Went for a much needed family lunch on Saturday which was a glorious break from studying for these pesky exams. I've literally been living in the basement of my department like a cretin for the past two weeks with my head in the books. Was so relaxing to just stroll around Stephen's Green with Dan and then have a proper meal; the first I've had in a long time!
Seven exams down, three to go.
Friday cannot come sooner.

Speaking of Dan, Happy Birthday dear! 23 Today! And congrats on finishing college too.
(He's gonna kill me for this!!!!!)

P.S. Has anyone else seen Brown Thomas window lately??? What is going on here?? It does not help with my phobia of rodents!
